Together as a team, we at Child’s Dream are here to empower people in the Mekong Sub-Region. We do this by working in partnerships with communities to improve the health and education of their children, youth and young adults for sustainable development.
Our team needs your support in managing and strengthening the implementation of the Education Infrastructure Projects in Cambodia. Reporting to the Country Director, the scope covers school buildings, boarding houses, water systems, and playgrounds. Working closely with the project team, the role oversees the full project cycle from planning to completion and handover, ensuring quality, budget and timelines are met. The position also coordinates with key stakeholders, development partners and beneficiaries throughout the projects.
Your duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Construction Project Management
Oversee and guide the team in managing projects independently, efficiently and to quality standards.
Manage budgets and administrative expenses in accordance with approved budgets and internal regulations.
Plan annual project activities and financials, including cost estimates, budgets, timeframes, log frames, contracts and baselines, with partners for Country Director approval.
Monitor and evaluate project activities, outputs and outcomes in line with the M&E plan.
Conduct project risk mitigation.
Provide regular updates to the Country Director and prepare timely project progress reports
Lead the identification, development and implementation of new projects and interventions, including baseline surveys.
Lead and Develop Project Team
Lead our project team by setting an example and fostering empathy.
Build a strong team spirit within the organisation.
Promote the capacity development of each team member and develop and maintain a strong feedback culture in the team.
Collaborate with the Country Director, Head Finance & Office Administration – Cambodia and Regional HR team on Human Resources Planning.
Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Building
Build and maintain effective relationships with our stakeholders, community members, constructors and education partners.
Facilitate donor visits to showcase our impactful work.
We are seeking a person who meets the following criteria:
Education and work experience
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent education
Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience in the I/NGO sector or related field
Proven experience in conducting trainings, community engagement and development, and managing construction projects would be an asset
Experience in using construction software is of advantage (AutoCAD, SketchUp)
Hard skills
Advanced knowledge in project cycle management and budgeting
Ability to collect, analyse and produce good quality data and information
Proven leadership skills to foster a productive and collaborative working environment
Solid IT skills (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, E-mail)
Desirable skills include training facilitation, presentation and report writing
Soft skills
Demonstrate the ability to accept, implement and give constructive feedback
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Great attention to detail and a critical mind
Excellent organisational and time-management skills
Language skills
Good English skills
Proficiency in Khmer
