Programme Coordinator (Career Planning Programme)

Starting date of position – as soon as possible

Location: Based in Siem Reap

Together as a team, we at Child’s Dream are here to empower people in the Mekong Sub-Region. We do this by working in partnerships with communities to improve the health and education of their children, youth and young adults for sustainable development.

Our team needs your support in managing and strengthening the implementation of the Career Planning Programme in Cambodia. Reporting to the Head - Programme, you will lead the full project management cycle, including project identification, initiation, planning, implementation, monitoring, and closure. You will coordinate with focal teachers, students, communities and stakeholders, develop training and programme activities, manage budgets and resources, monitor programme quality and outcomes, and ensure effective delivery of activities and events. You will also contribute to the management of other programmes and projects, as required, when capacity allows, ensuring effective delivery in line with organisational priorities.

Your duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement Career Planning Programme activities, including annual workplans, schedules, workshops, and student training sessions together with the focal teachers.

  • Develop and update training curricula, training materials, student resources, based on identified needs.

  • Coordinate with focal teachers, students, schools, and other stakeholders to ensure effective programme delivery and participation.

  • Track programme implementation against workplans, timelines, targets, and indicators, and identify and address implementation challenges.

  • Organize and facilitate career fairs, guest speakers, and teacher capacity-building activities (TOT).

  • Manage programme budgets, procurement processes, contracts, and payments, in accordance with organizational procedures.

  • Design and conduct surveys, interviews, attendance tracking, and other data-collection activities to assess programme participation, satisfaction, and results.

  • Analyze programme data and prepare progress, evaluation, and outcome reports with practical recommendations for improvement.

  • Maintain complete and up-to-date programme files, participant records, attendance sheets, activity reports, monitoring data, contracts, and supporting documentation.

We are seeking a person who meets the following criteria: 

Education and work experience 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Education, Training & Development, Social Studies, or related field

  • 4–5 years’ experience in project management, training, teaching, curriculum development, or youth development.

  • Experience with career guidance/education programmes preferred.

  • NGO/non-profit sector experience is an advantage.

Hard skills

  • Project management skills (Proposal design/Log-Frame preparation, budgeting, M&E and planning)

  • TOT Training skill (Training Content, curriculum, lesson plan/activities and material design)

  • Curriculum and instructional design

  • Desirable skills include training facilitation, presentation and report writing

  • Solid IT skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-mail)

Soft skills

  • Passion for youth and education development

  • Patient, supportive, and empathetic

  • Proactive and self-motivated

  • High integrity and professionalism

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Organizational and planning skills

  • Creativity and problem-solving

  • Ability to work independently and in a team

Language skills

  • Proficient Khmer and intermediate English skills

Other requirements 

  • A strong interest in working for an NGO to improve quality leader and specialist in Cambodia.

  • Demonstrate and uphold all Child’s Dream values, consistently applying the required behaviours in day-to-day work, interactions, and decision-making.

  • Ability to travel to the field regularly (50% of the working time).

  • A valid Driver’s license.
